Before bringing your donations to the library, please review our guidelines below regarding books we can and cannot accept.
We cannot always accept large donations. However, if you have a large collection of books to donate and they meet the guidelines, contact us! We'll ask for some more details so we can determine if we can arrange to take them in.

- Used books in good condition — fiction or non-fiction — for readers of all ages
- Brand new books, best-selling novels, history, mysteries, thrillers, gift books
- Especially desired non-fiction subjects: Art, esp. “coffee table books”, Biographies, Business, History, Recent Investing, Philosophy, Science
- Cookbooks - very recent or favorite classics
- Non-English books - Reference only; e.g., dictionaries, self-taught language learning, "Berlitz", word concepts, etc.
- Recent text books, especially Math and Science
- HS and College test-prep materials.
- Collectible books, antiquarian items, books prior to 1950
- Rare or unusual collectible magazines - Prior to 1950
- Newer Magazines, especially children’s
- DVDs, audio books on CD, educational DVDs from The Great Courses
- Good condition puzzles or games (with all of the pieces). Please tape the boxes.
NO, THANK YOU
- NO VHS tapes, audio cassettes, or phonograph/vinyl records
- NO heavy highlighting, underlining, smoke/water/pet damage, mildew, dirt.
- NO software/computer manuals or medical guidebooks more than 10 years old
- NO travel guides more than 5 years old
- NO National Geographic, oversized, or membership magazines (AARP, etc.)
Note: Donations close when space is not available, a week or so before and after our two big semi-annual sales, and mid-December to early January, to give our volunteers a holiday.
